Climate debate - AGW alarmists: Lose, lose, lose

Lawrence Solomon on 'Our cosmic climate':
The 20-year-long global warming debate is in its final stages...
... doomsayers lost the argument in the court of public opinion ...
... Then, the doomsayers lost the economic argument ...
... And now, the global warming doomsayers have lost their pretended monopoly on the official science ...
...  they found not a scintilla of compelling evidence, absolutely nothing, that could pin more than a dollop or two of warming on human activities. All that the IPCC scientists have to show for their efforts are endless computer models that don’t work ...
... While this 20-year dead-end research was turning up failure after failure, the Danish science [solar modulation of cosmic rays, CLOUD] went from success to success....
Now, how long will it take to overcome the momentum generated by those decades of alarmist hype and hysteria? The alarmists won't be admitting defeat any time soon; and governments will continue taxing 'carbon' for some time to come while wasting our money pointlessly fighting AGW.  For example, in the Globe & Mail:
The federal government plans to regulate emissions on new natural-gas-fired power plants, posing a major challenge for an industry that is being forced to phase out traditional coal-fired plants.... The draft coal regulations were released in the Canada Gazette last weekend, and will be finalized after a 60-day comment period. They require that any new or refurbished coal-fired plant, commissioned after July 1, 2015, emit no more carbon dioxide than a high efficiency gas-fired station ....

Sadly I foresee no end to this scam unless enough people wake up and make it very clear that no political party pushing this hoax will get elected. As long as we accept being suckers, they will continue to take us for suckers.

Yes. In my neck-of-the-woods all the politicians and 99% of the media yammer contantly about "green", "sustainability" and "carbon footprints" and the schools are dedicating new resources to indoctrinate the young in all this nonsense.

Get with the team, bro. Recognizing Climate change is Conservative policy and Harper government policy. Don't criticize Conservative policy.

Here is the Harper government website: http://www.climatechange.gc.ca/default.asp?lang=En&n=E18C8F2D-1

Anonymous #2, Don't we know it! Harper and nearly every other political leader bows to AGW nuttery. That's a big part of the momentum that needs to be overcome if we're going to turn this Titanic around. Problem is, if we vote Harper out what do we get that's an improvement?

Actually the Prime Minister only plays the game as much as he needs to. You'll notice that he hasn't taken any concrete action yet, and when he attends international conferences on the subject he is as often as not arguing against the AGW hysterics (didn't he get both the US and China to modify their positions last time?).

Come to think of it, the man who originally signed us up for the ridiculous Kyoto Accord also had no intention of following through on it, did he? I think Harper is just waiting for a few more nails in the AGW coffin before coming out and abandoning it officially; even when this crap first started he was trying to steer public opinion towards action covering *all* pollutants, not just the so-called greenhouse gases.

Nah, I wouldn't worry too much about Stephen Harper on this subject. Just like the 'stimulus' issue...he knows it's crap, but he also knows he has to pick his battles carefully...

Fred, even if you are correct we still have a major battle before us, since the AGW agenda is becoming entrenched within the bureaucracy and we have seen how the bureaucracy does its own thing thumbing its nose at official government policy and directives.
