Brenda Martin - media exploiting her stupidity

This post pretty much nails how I feel about her situation. Any sympathy I once felt is waning rapidly.

The media is milking it shamelessly to bash Harper's government efforts to help. It has a bit of an eau-de-Cadman smell to it.

Update: Joanne at 'Blue Like You' has provided outstanding coverage of this situation here, here and here.

SDA just posted a new one today referencing a comment a reader made on my blog.

I have renamed the Brenda Martin case the "scandal of the week". The week is just about over though, so we better be prepared for the next pseudo scandal dreamt up by the Liberals.

Perhaps we could have a contest to see if we can predict.....

Unfortunately, the ones they have dug up are so far fetched that any sane thinking Canadian would never guess they would use something like that.

Sigh.....

Joanne, Thanks for the heads up.

Alberta Girl, You're exactly right - the Lib/media strategy is to try to keep the phony scandals rolling. As for the next one, I read today that in early April Szabo will release his ethics committee report on the Mulroney/Schreiber affair. Not exactly new but still part of the pattern.

Thanks for the links and kind words, JR.

I just wonder how much this Brenda Martin thing has impacted the recent by-elections?

Funny how all this comes to a head, along with the Cadman controversy around the same time...

I am an American following this case because I am interested in the American woman that Martin pointed the finger at in exchange for a deal (which she never got).

Why is it that I've heard this guy on American radio but not Canadian? He worked with Brenda Martin and has some interesting things to say about her...

I can't believe what the Mexican goverment is doing to people like Brenda Martin. In Mexico its common for parents on vacation to be murdered in there hotel room, having your wife raped, being murdered for a few dollars. What happens when you go to the authorities and find that they are just as corrupt as the criminals. I for one am boycotting Mexico until the goverment trys to resolve their internal corruption. I found a petition that may help put pressure on the Mexican goverment to change.
